As a emergency physician and photojournalist I continue to honor and photograph our "First Responders"as they put their lives on the line on a daily basis. I would like to share a set of photographs to taken two days ago while I was responding to a house fire. The photos were initially in color but I am a staunch fan of "Black & White" photography. With black & white photographs, it has always been intention to try to convey and elicit a strong emotional response to the viewer. The firefighters exiting this house fire are covered with insulation from the ceiling and attic while attacking the fire from the first floor. I might add there were no injuries during this fire. I welcome your comments. ( Please download for better quality). These photos were shot with NIKON D5 with a NIKON 70mm-200mm AFS 2.8, ISO 800. I use Lightroom almost exclusively for my post processing.
Fantastic set and well done to portray these heroes
The photographs are great, but the first responders are even better.

Very well done series. Thank you for highlighting these selfless individuals.
Great informal portraits.
Beautifully done series of the selfless few putting their lives on the line every day for us. Bravo to you for capturing them and reminding us with these beautiful portraits.
Your images are outstanding. They really capture the inner resolve that these guys have while donning many pounds of equipment To climb through ashes and muck to do what they are there for. Great respect for the firemen and as an ex-cop for all first responders.
God bless America and her people.
Awesome series docphoto. Being a volunteer FF for 42 years, I really appreciate your effort to capture firefighters at work.
If you are interested, a good friend of mine and fellow firefighter does fire photography also. If you google fdphotounit it will take you to his smugmug website.
