A drone project

There is a hawks nest in a high tree across the street from my house and I am wondering what kind of drone & camera would be suitable for getting shots from above the nest. There might be chicks so do not want to disturb the sitting hawk. Other considerations?

I use a DJI Phantom 4 Pro+ to spy on geese in our creek and beaver pond. And keep track of our cattle in the pasture.

But when spying on any critter be prepared to make a fast exist in case they decide they don't like you. I've had several geese decide they don't like my drone and make a serious effort to "kill" it!

My only complaint with most drones is the 20-28mm lenses they use. You have to get fairly close to a small target to capture much detail, per the attached.

I wouldn't do it. You would most likely disturb them. I'm sure the adults would consider your drone a threat and try to chase it off but they may get injured by the props. My advice, don't do it.

The short focal length lenses of drones and need to get close convinces me not to try. Thanks for the good answers.
