Good morning my fellow Hogs!
While cleaning out a cabinet, I came across a nearly full box of 8 1/2 x 11 HP Advanced Photo Paper, Glossy (Q7854A).
I looked all over the HP website and did a general Google search and could not find any leads to what ICC Profile to use when printing on my Canon Pixma Pro 100.
Trying to find a phone # to HP was also fruitless. Go figure.
Anyway, if anyone has the ICC Profile for my paper/printer combo or a link to that info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck finding a Canon profile for an HP paper! Have you tried using the Canon settings for their glossy papers?
This is quite an unusual scenario. Most folks buy papers that have profiles for their printers. Printer manufacturers don’t make profiles for each other’s papers. So you might have to give that paper to an HP owner, or find someone who can make custom profiles. But it’s worth scouring the pro inkjet supply houses to see whether someone has already made a custom profile for that printer/paper combination.
Will look into that option. Just trying not to waste ink in experimenting.

Understood.
My experience is mostly with Epson printers. They work great with Epson papers, not so well with HP or Canon papers. The chemistries of the coatings are different. There are many third party papers that work well with Epson inks, and their vendors usually supply profiles for the more popular current printers. The same is true for third party papers used with HP and Canon printers.
Red River, Moab, Hahnemuhle, Ilford Galerie, and other fine professional inkjet papers work well in all three brands, if you download and install printer-specific, paper-specific profiles, or create your own, using a spectrophotometer and software.
I think if you go to the canon website you’ll find a profile under the canon pro-100 support area. There may even be a selection for HP paper on the Canon print driver. If not you can find a profile from Precision Color ink website that’s for their refill ink, but it will get you pretty close.
I had a box of small HP paper that I wanted to use up when I got my Pro-100. I've never been successful at using paper profiles even when I have them. So I sort of made my own. It seemed to add magenta, so I kept taking out magenta until I was satisfied. Then I would create a copy of the image and label it "for HP paper." That worked usually. If you have an old set of filters we used to use in the darkroom for adjusting colour, it helps. They will tell you what you need to change to get it to print correctly.
The only way to get an icc profile for HP paper for use on a Canon printer would be to create one yourself with a ColorMunki or other colorometer. I've made them before and it's easy. I made one for Costco paper to use on my Pro-100. I don't have that printer any more and have not make a new profile for my new printer yet because I have tons of paper with profiles from the paper mfgr. Good luck.
