Hi: this is my first post to the forum. I saw the question about transferring photos from the camera to the iPhone/iPad using WiFi. I use this function extensibly and it works just fine, anywhere. Here’s how I do it:
Make sure that you have downloaded the PlayMemories App.
On the camera, go to menu. Select the WiFi icon; under the first option, select send to smartphone.
Select either “this image” or “multiple images.”
If selecting multiple images, the camera gives you the option to select “on this device” or “select on smart phone.” Either works, but I prefer select on this device if there are not too many photos to transfer. You can then select your photos using the control wheel to browse through the photos in the camera. By pressing the center button, you will see a small check mark in the photo frame. That photo is now selected.
Once you have selected all your photos, press menu, again. The next command will say “execute.” Press center button on the control wheel. A password will appear. Write it down quickly. You will need to enter it on the iPhone.
Go to settings on your smartphone/iPad. Press WiFi. You will see the ILCE-6000 listed on available networks, choose it. Enter password. Your phone will now be connected to the camera WiFi. You should not have to enter the password next time, but save it, just in case.
Open PlayMemories App. The photos will transfer.
Sounds complicated, but after you have done it a few times, it becomes second nature. I hope that this is helpful.
