If you own a later model, Nikon upper end consumer or pro model, check out Steve Perry's video "The Best Nikon Tricks Ever" for some easy to configure, easy to use, automated shortcuts. My personal favorite was the last one- I don't switch from landscape to portrait modes when I'm in a hurry cause it takes too much time to move the focus points around for wildlife. This one changes all that!! So easy to set up! Thanks Steve- Awesome :)
Steve has a follow on video for more tips but I haven't looked at that yet.
Different subject- I wanted to pass on that I found a decent waist pack that is large enough to carry a small camera and lens (or a light weight long lens) and few extras from Lowepro. It is advertised as a birder's pack for binoculars and journal but I pulled out the inside dividers and it works great for camera equipment and water bottle. It's the Optic Series- Field Station- Very lightweight, comfortable- hardly know it's there- adjustable, well made. If you overload it, it will pull down a bit at the waist but stays in place pretty well. It can be worn in the front, on the side but it fits best when worn in the back as intended. I use it for biking or hiking or when I want to carry a smaller camera. Can be used to carry extras, snacks, hat, gloves, etc etc.
I always leave my Canon T7I in auto. Much easier!
Thanks for that, I have subscribed to the videos and will soon start watching them. That bag looks useful if not too overloaded, can't have too many bags, ha ha.
Thank you...I found some useful tips!
