I live 20 minutes from Sedona. I can't take photos of the majestic rocks because they are too majestic. So Saturday we took the grandchildren to the Grand Canyon. Here's a couple of my shots, some of which were worked on after suggestions from fellow Hoggers. Beside the point, I gave my wife a Nikon for Christmas last year, and she and my 13 y.o. Grandson got some spectacular shots. But here are mine. It was a beautiful rainy, foggy, gray day. I loved it.

Unusual shots of the canyon, buckwheat. They differ from what I typically see and bring a new perspective. I like them a great deal. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you folks for your comments. We had a "grand" time.
I envy you living close by, which affords you the opportunity to visit the canyon in all kinds of weather, from bright sunny days, to winter with snow patches between the red rocks, and to cloudy conditions per your recent visit.

What "grand" photos especially 2&5

The tree shot is spectacular-would make a great poster!
Dickhrm: Because I have not yet retired, this is the first time in 20 years in Arizona that we have been to the canyon. We plan a return trip in October.
Thank you. I like the simplicity.

nice shots. If you ever get the chance to run the rapids in the Grand Canyon do it not only is it exciting and beautiful but it gives you a totally different perspective of the Beauty of the Grand Canyon.Just remember to take pleanty of pictures.Wish I lived closer.
Wow, Buckwheat, Thanks for sharing!! We are headed to the North Rim in September,, can't wait.
Your shots are GREAT!!
Thank you everyone who stroked my ego. I really do appreciate the comments, because FOF love everything.
We're going back in October, because I want to get the sun rise over the canyon. Woke up in the motor home to do that, but the sun had decided to not get up until 8:00 or 9:00. As I said, it was a beautiful day, rainy, cloudy, foggy and cold. A big change from the 104 a few days earlier.
Very nice, I especially like the last 2!!
