Well, cat2560. If you really, really want to know, just Google "Butterflies and Moths of North America". So many beautiful butterflies, shown individually in 1-1/2 inch squares, 48 images to a page. But there are at least 70 pages of them--blue, orange, tan, black. Pour yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy the search! (Or you could visit or call the people who manage the butterfly house and ask them. That might be easier but not as much fun.) -- Jackie

May be you typed it wrong, it's Pipevine Swallowtail.

The butterfly is called the Great Mormon, Papilio memnon. It it does resemble a male pipevine swallowtail, but this one is an Asian species. You can find out more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papilio_memnon It has some interesting biology which you can read about.

You might be able to call the exhibit for a verification. I have seen this one before but was not sure if it was Asian of Central/South American. Most specimens in live displays are tropical.
This one had me stumped for a while. My best guess is The Great Mormon Swallowtail. There are many species under this genus:Papilio Memnon.
Hopefully, some of our other Lepidoptera gurus will check in and confirm or enlighten us.
