Definitely see a difference as you increase number of images from 5 to 20 on download. 5 has noticeable diffuse edges, especially noted on the long beige dried 'flower/leaf?' - these get better with more images in the stack. Nice examples - thanks!

Yes the detail and transitions get better but does it ever take time for the software to work, and the file size!!!! Before "flatten image" in PS I had one over 10 GB. That put a strain on my 16 GB RAM machine. I think I need to up the RAM to the 32 GB max the board will handle and get a video card bigger than my 2 GB one.
I need to learn the Helicon software (I bought it with the FB Tube) for now I am using Photo Shop (I also own Franzis Projects Pro's stacking software - need to learn it also.) I think I will set up folders of the frames shot for each experiment, then run each set of images through all three apps to see what happens and how the results differ.
Thanks for doing all the testing!

The check is in the mail!
All beautiful, Jerry. Especially like the first for the blurred backdrop.
Hi,
I would definitely try the Helicon program (I use Zerene but roughly the same thing...) - runs much faster and probably does a better job for large stacks - I usually run 50-100 or more images for one stack.

OK, as stated the Helicon Focus and Franzis version are on my "To Do" list. 50-100, with PS I could go eat a meal.
Very sharp photos Robert, good job. I just started using the Helicon software a couple of weeks ago, still on free trial. I will purchase it for sure after my 30 days, since comparing it to Photoshop's stacking and blending.

These shots are with the Helicon HB Tube, the software for stacking was Photo Shop. I got the Helicon software with the tube for a discount but am still learning to use it. I also have the German company Franzis' stacking software, it was part of a package on sale when I bought an upgrade to their sharpening and noise programs which I like a lot. It was just a few dollars more to get the whole package than to get the two upgrades alone, so I did it.
