Thanks to all for the comments. The reason I framed it without the left corner of the barn was because there was a large propane tank there which, to me, took away from the mood of the shot. I know I have a lot to learn, just not enough hours for it yet.
Very nice, #2 gets my vote

Both are very nice, DL, but I really like the second photo. You have a good eye.
Lovely. So peaceful and the lighting is just about perfect.

Image #2 is Fantastic!!!!!!!! everything about it is great!! Content, composition, color, sharpness and contrast. #1 is nice but a bit boring.

WOW...stunning sunset set!!!
Two very pleasing images. Really like #2.
Beautiful! Poster material.
Very nice pieces. I prefer the first; the building and site are in disrepair, the sun off the corner is like a metaphor for the possibility of rebirth after a terrible time, the close up of the purple flowers (symbolic of love at first sight or undying love) seem to symbolize there is life and love beyond the setbacks of living. For me, (a poet who writes to photography at times) there is the realities of a life lead, and the hope of a life to be. I like it. The second is a more macro version, less personal for me.
I really liked the first one -- until I saw your second one! Both are great, but I certainly lean toward #2 as my favorite. I love pictures of old barns and wooden buildings but adding in the sunset really makes the picture. Well done.
