Jan 2016 the Senior Citizens Photo Club had the theme "holiday traditions" for our monthly meeting.
OK, I picked two traditions. When my turn to present came I got up with my pictures mounted and the mount board face down while I stated my presentation.
I described the traditional roast goose, a la Charles Dickens in "A Christmas Carol". How it looked, how the kitchen smelled etc (Oh, my family's tradition is country ham and turkey most years with the occasional beef roast, but the country ham.).
Then I mentioned my second tradition... (Well known to all who have gotten a new bike or "that toy" for a child.)
The almost universal:
Oh! After this incident the club coordinator Dottie very nicely urged me not to do stuff like that again.
Then last Nov she had things coming up that kept her from being the club coordinator for a few months. She asked for volunteers to take over. I was the only one who replied and now I am the coordinator. And April is coming, April Fool's Day does last the whole month, right?
