The Valley of Fire is a Nevada State Park. It is located approx 55 miles East of Las Vegas next to the Lake Mead Recreational Area.

Thank you. The 24-70 is fixed to the camera most if the time. I enjoy using it on the full frame camera. It provides much many options for focal lengths that are useful in landscape captures. At least for me..

Very nice David. I'm going there with my wife on April 16th staying in Overton, NV. It will be my first trip to the Valley of Fire, so I'm looking forward to the experience. Do you happen to have any suggestions for me. What I've been reading it that the late after/early afternoon hours are the best time to shoot as the setting sun lights up the various rock formations there. Thanks for any advice you might give me.

Roger

Glad you enjoyed this set. Mornings and afternoons are the best times, but certainly not the only time of day. I suggest walking around and exploring some of the hiking trails. The middle of the week can be better because there are less people. If you have a longer lens, there are plenty of small animals and you might have wildflowers by then. It was still cold when i was there last week.
