On Tuesday night we had a thunderstorm pass through. I was raised to enjoy storms but treat them with respect. Here are three pictures I took from the garage of the lightning. I was using a 15 second exposure and hoping for a streak. Enjoy

Nice...I am waiting on my lighting trigger to show so I can get as good as those shots!
I thought about the lightning triggers but find the 15 to 30 second exposures working well. Sure, I have to discard quite a few of the pictures.
I grew up in Illinois farmland and it seems like we'd have a thunder storm every afternoon . . . Didn't bother me then. . . . Now, living in Anchorage AK for the last 35 years where we might get a little thunder and lightening once every 5 years or so . . . . Whenever we go down to the lower 48 and encounter thunder storms . . . It scares us . . .
Pretty amazing captures. Thank you for posting.
Nice shots Bill. Looks like your 15 seconds worked well for you. Well done.
Great captures... very beautiful
Thank you everyone. I really enjoy doing them. Scares my wife a little that I am out there but I try to be safe.

Nice work and lots of luck involved. I've used that method and got one out of 20+ with a lightning bold in it. I'm tempted, but not enough yet, to purchase a trigger.

Good job, Bill! I've never gotten a shot of lightning with keeping let alone posting! :(
