Just added the Nikkor 200-500 f/5.6 to my arsenal yesterday. Today we had snow and I heard this Pileated Woodpecker in my backyard. Cropped from a 400mm 1/2500 sec f/5.6 shot @ISO 400.

nice. hard shot to get. I got the 200-500 not long ago and it's about all i'm using now for birds. i just posted some back yard snow birds today. we're in DC area.
