The gullibility of wingers knows no bounds. No matter how many f**e news stories the right wing lie machine puts out daily, wingers immediately fall for every single one without ever bothering to fact check or verify, embarrassing themselves endlessly.

The latest false story they jumped on is this stupid claim that "Obama called to congratulate Putin's e*******l win in 2012".

There is not a single true thing in the entire statement. Well, ok, there is one thing that is true: Putin won a so-called "e******n" in 2012. But Obama did not congratulate Putin. Nor did Obama call Putin.

Obama responded to Putin's victory in 2012 by giving a belated and terse public statement that "the United States looks forward to working with the president-elect." He did not mention Putin by name, and there was no congratulations, and Obama waited 5 days after the so-called "e******n" to say it. Obama did not call Putin. He put out a simple public statement. No one misunderstood the unmistakably cool and unenthusiastic impression Obama was clearly signaling. The contrast between Obama's tepid, delayed acknowledgement, with Trump's enthusiastic chummy speedy congratulations he gave over the phone to his favorite dictator this instance, calling his buddy immediately after the e******n, and incredibly choosing to not condemn Putin for the unlawful chemical attack only days after they attacked the US's closest ally with illegal chemical weapons, couldn't be more clear.

...in 2012 there was a tremendous amount of hand-wringing over whether President Barack Obama should congratulate Vladimir Putin on his e******n "victory," especially after a campaign in which Putin had been especially belligerent toward the U.S. The New York Times reported that "the Obama administration fiercely debated how to respond to the Russian e******n, with some officials favoring a strong condemnation of the results." In the end, "the White House ultimately settled on a tempered statement, not directly congratulating Mr. Putin but saying 'the United States looks forward to working with the president-elect.'" The statement didn't mention Putin by name and the president waited five days before making the call.

If Obama had pulled the exact same s**t that trump has I would be totally against him and everyone would know it. So what is the matter with the right on this site, why do they continue to defend this buffoon?

He's the quarterback of their team and if you don't let up they will come looking for your mascot. At least that is how it was the last time I saw anything like this.

That's true, if you can show us we are wrong we won't argue about it for six months like the right does.

And here's another historical fact - Obama promised Dmitri Medvedev (President of Russia before Putin) that he would have more flexibility:

..."As he was leaning toward Dmitri Medvedev in Seoul, Obama was overheard asking for time — “particularly with missile defense” — until he is in a better position politically to resolve such issues.

“I understand your message about space,” replied Medvedev, who will hand over the presidency to Putin in May.

“This is my last e******n … After my e******n I have more flexibility,” Obama said, expressing confidence that he would win a second term.

“I will t***smit this information to Vladimir,” said Medvedev, Putin’s protégé and long considered number two in Moscow’s power structure.

The exchange, parts of it inaudible, was monitored by a White House pool of television journalists as well as Russian reporters listening live from their press center."

Flexibility? I'm in awe at how fast snopes is being rehabilitated by the gopers.

True, Snopes leans to the left, but even they can't refute a fact. If you still think that Obama did not call Putin to congratulate him in 2012, then you need to get back to counting kangaroos.

I've tried to find out what a goper is, but it's not defined as an Australian species...did you mean "groper"?

No one tell him about gopers.

(This is nuanced, Obama did not trip over himself to gush unqualified support and congratulations to a murdering despot. Tex)
