Alaska is amazing

This picture was taken at 11:25 in the evening inside the Arctic Circle on the bank of the Koyukuk River. I wish I had taken my DSLR but, rain was likely so I settled for a point and shoot. When I think of that journey it reminds me of the words of "May It Be" by Enya,
"You walk a lonely road
Oh how far you are from home"

Great view of what Alaska looks like..

I fine it a hard place to capture with such vast views and rapidly changing weather...

Thanks for the input. I felt the brush in the foreground added a bit of "interest". I could have cropped it more to highlight that but, I wanted to give a sense of the vastness of the area.

Thanks. I agree with you completely. Unless you have experienced it, there is no way to understand how isolated it is up there. When we pulled out onto the Dalton Hwy for the remainder of the trip to the Arctic Ocean, the sign said, "Next Services 240 miles".

I went to Alaska this summer on a cruise. I got some great shots... Really enjoyed it. I had to use my P&S alot too because of the rain.
