I am over the age of 80. My camera case is full of lenses and hard to carry.
Someone told me that I need a bridge camera can anyone help me decided which camera to buy. I have been looking at the Fuji HS10 or Fine pix HS20. I was told it had 30x Zoom ability. I have also looked at the Panasonic FZ150. I would like to take pictures of birds and landscape, just general photography. I would like to hear from someone who owns one of these cameras. I am told I can expect almost the same results as my E volt Olympus DSLR although I will still keep it for special photography.

I have the HS20 and am very pleased with it - however the new HS30 I believe has got round many of the shortcomings of the HS20. The noise problems and speed between shots is vastly improved. The lens on both cameras is brilliant and sharp. Bear in mind the smallest aperture is f/8 although this is equivalent to f/20 'ish on a DSLR. The zoom is very easy (manual) but manual focus is fiddly. I also have a DSLR with several lenses, but the Fuji is the one I use most except in low light conditions. Depth of Field is not an issue unless you really want blurred backgrounds. HS20 very good, HS30 excellent.

I have recently bought a panasonic fz150 and i am very happy with it. I am close to 80 and a bit shaky but I am able to use this camera with eze. Here is a photo i took today. Taken at full zoom and then cropped to a quarter of the original. Still sharp and clear. The subject was approximately 200metres away

1/125 @ f5.2 full zoom

That's a superb shot of the pelican. I have a Panasonic FZ-150 and find it particularly good in speed of focus, focus accuracy and image stabilisation, all of which to my mind should make it a strong contender for you.

I have a Sony HX 200V also. I love it. I got it for the same reasons you are looking at a bridge and I am not disappointed.

I have a Nikon P500 with 36x zoom on it. The new P510 has 42x zoom capability on it. It doesn't shoot Raw like some of the other bridge cameras, but I love mine. It is a nice camera and I have gotten a lot of good shots with it.

Just to add my voice to this request, i too bought about a month ago the FUJIFILM FINEPIX HS30EXR and for portablity and good photo,s and movie in full 1080 HD STEREO sound, it,s hard to beat at the price, shopping around even at this early stage, can save you a hundred pounds off the RRP.
