This is a very remote region of coastal and mountainous jungle where the only means of getting from A to B is via canoe on the river. The people are either of an aboriginal group called the Chachi, or are aftro-Ecuadorians. Poverty is extreme, by our standards. If they have a roof and food to eat today, they're OK.

These were wonderful - my parents went on quite a few medical mission trips and these brought back many sweet memories - thank you for sharing!
