It's funny when I photograph bees, since I am terrified of them and also allergic. However, sometimes I'm bored and uninspired so hit the flowers in the front yard. Yesterday was one of those days.

What lense were you using? I am not allergic, but have a healthy respect for them.

The Canon 100mm F2.8 macro lens. It's an incredibly versatile lens. I'd never part with it and can't sing enough paises for it. The perfect all-around, imho. I am terrified of bees and wasps. I literally scream like a little girl if one is near me (and sometimes even cry). This is very hard (especially with a heart condition) but they fascinate me, at the same time. I've had a legitimate phobia of them for as long as I can remember; since I was a very little girl.

I recently posted some of my Alaska Brown Bear photo's and your comments about being afraid of your subjects rang loud and true. I sweat through my clothes every time I get close to them. There is something both terrifying and thrilling about being close enough to them to get good photographs. They scare me and fascinate me in equal measure. My mantra while photographing them is "face your fears...face your fears"

Agreed (though I felt that way the first time I saw a grizzly, up close and personal). Ya just gotta do it!
