Thinking about this lens to use on my Nikon D5100 and D750. Anyone have experience and an opinion on it. I did a search on UHH and the latest post was from 2016, and was hoping I might get some more recent input, thanks gals and guys.
Because your camera is a cropped sensor the 24-85 won't be practical. Try instead the Nikon 16-85mm VR DX
True, but the D750 is full frame.

The OP owns a 750--he should not invest in DX lenses.

If you're looking for one lens that will be fully functional on both bodies, that is a good, economical choice. Regardless of the opinion of anyone who cannot read your full post.
I have that lens for my D800. I love it for its smaller size and for the zoom range with the photography I do.

I use 2 ff lens on my D7200 the centers are sharp, edges are a little soft. Great for wildlife as most shots are cropped.

That is a very good lens on a full frame camera. On the D5100, while the zoom range would be 'unusual', the images will utilize the center portion of the projected image circle they will be pretty darn crisp. Go for it
I owned the lens for a while, no complaints. I used it on D600 and D800. I would recommend it from my experience with it.
I use it on a d5200 and d610. It is a great lens for the money.

I have it and use it with the D750; I like it quite a lot.
As it has been said, it's a little bit soft in the edges, but for the rest, I think that the relationship quality/price is very good.

This IS an FX lens. I use mine on a D800 and my D810 and love. Good focus and pretty good speed of focus for all kinds of events that I shoot especially when I need a little wider angle view. I don't think you would be sorry if you decide to purchase one. The only way I would give mine up is if I ever get enough money to purchase a 24-70MM 2.8. If you really are serious about getting one go and rent one and see for yourself. I am lucky enough to have a rental place (Rentglass.com) 3/4 of a mile away. I have always rented anything I was thinking of purchasing and it has made it helpful to decide on my own what I wanted to purchase. Great lens! Thanks

I keep that lens on my DX camera, it is a better fit for what I normally shoot than the kit lens. One of the reasons I bought it was I am thinking of getting an FX camera.

I have the older version from 2010 purchase. I liked the range on a FF camera but the older version was not too sharp and bad with CA. I hear the new version is better.
