Can you download ICC profiles for this printer?
I see them for the pro 10 100 and 1000 but not for the ip8720.

The profiles for canon paper can be accessed from the print dialog in the color management drop down box. What paper are you using? Are you using Canon ink?

Canon paper and canon ink.
It is more about how much control I have over the colors. Its a low end photo printer. When I went to canon website for ICC profiles, it only referenced 10, 100 and 1000 and not the ip8720.

Again...The profiles are available within the print dialog!!!

When you downloaded the driver for your printer, it included the following ICC profiles.
Plain: Plain Paper, High Resolution Paper;
Super High Gloss: Photo Paper Pro Platinum;
Glossy: Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Photo Paper Glossy;
Semi-Gloss: Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss, Photo Paper Pro Luster;
Matte: Matte Photo Paper;
