Another black eye for the hobby.

It seems like everyday there's another drone story out there that reflects negatively on the drone hobby. The positive stories about locating missing people and such don't get as much attention.

Wonder if we will ever learn what caused the drone to catch fire. Lithium battery?

You never know. My first Phantom went down after it lost a fight with a tree. I saw it crash and immediately tried to kill the motors. Apparently the signal wasn't received. By the time I got to the crash site it was upside down and two of the props couldn't turn because of debris. The motors had overheated enough to melt the motor mounts in the lower shell. I ended up replacing the lower shell, two motors, and two ESC boards. Fortunately no fire resulted.
