Universal power strip for trip to Ireland

Going to Ireland and thought I’d like to bring a power strip. My chargers are dual voltage so the strip doesn’t have to convert power from 220 to 110. Any recommendations?

Use any power strip and get an adapter plug for it, that should cost the least

You will still need a converter plug to fit the outlets. Most converters just allow the power to flow unchanged but there must be a safety mechanism to prevent 110v appliances being exposed to the higher voltage.

Ireland uses the same plug as the UK. Any of those 'All in One Universal International' with the sliding prongs will do:
https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Universal-International-Converters-Charging/dp/B01M0VR5QS/ref=sr_1_11?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1520776727&sr=1-11&keywords=international+power+adapter

Outlets in hotels or B&B's or private homes are often scarce, in difficult locations or already used up. A short extension cord with a multiple outlet head to plug into the adapter is worth bringing.
If all of your devises are USB chargeable get a USB charging station like this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OQ19QYA/ref=sxnav_sxwds-bovbp_mh_m_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3514142302&pd_rd_wg=KbDlZ&pf_rd_r=KYH1PW5ZFJ700W65NWM8&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-nav&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B00OQ19QYA&pd_rd_w=IXSwe&pf_rd_i=usb+charger+multi+port&pd_rd_r=8c071ad2-5255-4844-924a-735146e1fe56&ie=UTF8&qid=1520775869&sr=1

If U.S. power is 110 volts and Europe is 220 how can a power strip rated for 110 volts handle the 220 volts?

OP said all of his chargers are dual voltage. The charger handles the conversion. You just need to to adapt the plug to the receptacle. Things like hair dryers and electric clocks need more than a plug adapter.

IF the 110v power strip has a indicator light in it the indicator light will probably burn out when plugged into the 220 outlet

I’m in Ireland, the UK, and Europe regularly, and I’ve never found the need to take a power strip with me... what multiple electrical devices are you also packing, that you feel would all need to be powered simultaneously, from a single wall socket?

On the extremely infrequent occasions I’ve needed a power strip (I can remember just two, in 30+ years of globe-trotting photographic commissions), I’ve just borrowed a power strip and plugged into that all the adaptors I needed. You are going to Ireland... not the middle of the Sahara or Gobi Deserts; I think you will struggle to find a hotel, motel, pub, or private home that doesn’t have a power strip to lend, or an electrical shop within a few miles that will sell a simple power strip for less than $10 equivalent.

Sorry, I’m guilty of believing that everyone is like me... and travels as light as me.

A suggestion; buy a UK / Ireland (as mentioned above, Ireland has an identical power configuration to UK) power strip from Amazon.co.uk, have it shipped to where you are staying, and leave it behind as a little gift: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-SurgeStrip-Surge-Protected-Extension/dp/B0002AG0F2?pd_rd_wg=WTMvN&pd_rd_r=9ef2bf6c-0f87-459f-aa89-d35d74b1e0cd&pd_rd_w=Mtp4i&ref_=pd_gw_simh&pf_rd_r=VXKTEMXXV3VN88XWWQRS&pf_rd_p=14f91171-0541-58ad-938b-3aec945f4cb7

Just go to a Poundland store when in Ireland and buy adapter for your chargers to use them in Ireland. The cost is 1 pound pr. adapter. This is all you need.

Don’t think I was clear. I want to plug in chargers iPad etc in power strip that handles U.S. plugs then plug the power strip into the outlet in Ireland which I know needs a G plug. What power strip will handle that.

Your dual voltage chargers only need plug adapters, which are small and cheap. Buy one or one for each charger and leave the power strip at home.

If you prefer to bring the strip with you you still need the adapter to plug the strip to the socket in Ireland. Just bring one of the strips laying around in your house and then buy the adapter at the Poundland store.
