Does this trail run along the water heading toward Mission Bay? We're heading down there in a week and a half. I'd love to do a hike in this area but am not sure where to go.

The best I can say is to log on to Sandiego river trail .com It is close to Mission Bay. The best place to start is at Rob Field in Ocean Beach and walk east on the paved trail. There is A Osprey nest at the park with occupants in it.
