Great photos. Brings back memories when I worked at Beeline Dragstrip as a photographer.

They are great photos, obviously not mine!
Very nice photos. Such great detail and color. What camera allows bursting of so many photos without hiccupping? It must be expensive.
The photographer lists it as a Canon 1DX MK2. The remote appears to be a 1Dx as per the photographer.
Impressive sequence of action photographs.
Mark does all the NHRA events and does spectacular work. Both drivers were OK.
Wow - unbelievable series of images. Glad everyone was okay.
Fantastic series of photos, but who crossed the finish line first?
Amazing neither was badly hurt. It appears they got entangled with their parachute cords.

That statement brings to mind an incident hat occurred two years ago in one of the NCAA post-season football bowl games. A team was deep in their own red zone, trying to get some room to work, when the quarterback flipped a short pass to a BIG ol' tight end. The guy sets out for the far end of the field, but is quickly forced to the sidelines, where sat a phalanx of photographers. One of them was kneeling, tracking the tight end with one of those long white telephoto lenses - when the tight end suddenly heads his way. The player never slowed. The photog never moved. He was driven back a ways before the melee came to an end.
While the officials were untangling this mess, my wife says, "I wonder if he (the photog) is alright?" I, of course said, "I wonder if he got the shot?" Priorities, y'know.
Neither the tight end not the photographer were hurt. I never did find out whether he got the shot. if he did, it must've been a doozy.
John Force won the race but could not continue. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out. His daughter Courtney who he would have raced against in the next round had a single. She went on to win the event.

He was involved in n accident the race before that also sent him to hospital and his other daughter Top Fuel champ Brittany to the hospital after her crash. John's team has had a rough start this year
