This looks like a great app. I'm sharing it to see what UHH-ers think.
From the web page: "The Photographer's Ephemeris® (TPE) is a tool to help you plan outdoor photography in natural light, especially landscape and urban scenes. It is a map-centric sun and moon calculator: see how the light will fall on the land, day or night, for any location on earth."

I’ve used this app for years. It’s my favorite app by far.

I've been using this site for more years than I can remember. It's quite useful for planning what time of what day one needs to be on site and ready to photograph. I know we all hear/read about The Golden Hour. However. there are some locations that just can't be photographed during those times of day.

I consider it a must when researching a location for a planned photo trip.

I have TPE and Photopills on my phone. They both do basically the same thing, but I find Photopills much easier to use.

Photo Transit is another cool app. You pick your subject location (eg building, landscape) , key in your camera and lens and it will show you your field of view from your shooting location on a Google Satellite Map. Play around with the viewing point or change the lens zoom until you get the coverage you want.

Photopills is a lot easier to use, but the visual details of Ephemeris are really nice.
