I bought a chevy convertible when I went into the service. I came out of the service after four years with the same car and a wife. Don't know if it was me or the car. Car was the same vintage as yours and I loved that car and sadly miss it. Fortunately I still have wife.
Saw a 1961 restored Impala Bubble top.... (the short roof) on the street this morning. My favorite Impala. Reminder that the show car season is starting soon. About a dozen local shows from April to September. Each show attracts from about 200 to 350 cars at various communities within a 50 mile radius.
Thank you, and your right, about that!!.......I"m going to have my Impala SS all polished up, and enter her in some of the car shows, and who knows, maybe even win a trophy???.i hope....

I can't tell a Mercedes from a Kia. No real individuality from the car manufacturers. I would prefer one of my 80's cars to any new models (for stylish looks).
