Hello, My name is Larry but my login is Hambar06. I have been getting Hedgehog now for several weeks and have hesitated to respond because I am rather intimidated by all the great photos you show. I was given my first 35mm camera before I left to go to boot camp in 1953 and got hooked on photography. Eventually I bought a NikonF and then an F3 with a few lenses. For a few years now with arthritis, I was forced to shelve all those and purchase my first [digital] Nikon point and shoot; I now have moved to a Coolpix P90. At some point I will post some of my old 35mm's and then my digital shots to see what the reaction I get from you all. Thanks in advance.

Hi Old Amateur!
I too am an old amateur and use a Coolpix L840. I'm still learning what all can be done with it after having had it for several years. I'm also doing the National Geographics Great Courses photography course which is really helpful. I love photographing rock art and wildlife. Don't be intimidated. Just have fun. You'll be surprised what you can produce by just experimenting and practicing!
