I tried to unsubscribe from my Creative Account today and when I was ready to hit the last submit button, Adobe offered me 90 free days. So I thought what the hell.I'll stay.
Though I don't know why.
I have been using Light Room for years, mainly as cataloging and hardly ever Photoshop. I have On1, and Affinity and Topaz and Nic and find I get by using just those. I'll schedule an experiment to not use LR for a month and see if I really miss it.
Just passing this on as info.

FWIW - I have been a subscriber for 4 years now, I use Lightroom everyday, Photoshop more than I used to now. Just got my renewal notice for my 5th year, same 9.99 per month
I cannot think how I would get along without Lightroom at this point.
BTW - if you cancel your subscription, Lightroom would still function as a catalog system to manage your images, the develop module would cease to function though.

Besides the Develop module, the Map module also quits. Library will remain functional. I'm not as sure, but I think Print and Slideshow continue.
As a Library alternative, I've read that Bridge is now a standalone, no fee product.

Bridge and Ps CC or CS6 will do the job if you don't have 30,000+ photos.
