My Apology! RE: Express

So sorry! I certainly did not mean to ignite a firestorm of controversy!

My intent was to offer to those who might “need” it, that which I just had found as a free, extremely easy to use, post-processing program, limited though it may be in its capabilities: Adobe Photoshop Express.

I’ve been following this forum daily for quite some time. It appears to me that those here range from some who know absolutely nothing about photography – lenses, cameras, post-processing, and how to make the best use of all – to a few who have been “professionals” for 50 or 60 years. There are basic reasons for the existence of all categories. My daughter is a very successful professional photographer, I’m what I call a semi-professional (though maybe assuming too much), while some of my children and grand-children are best described as snapshot takers. Each category has its own reasons for being such, and its own requirements for accomplishing its desired results.

In view of the wide range – from those honestly asking simplistic questions to those willing to impart freely the knowledge acquired from their many years of hands-on experience – of those participating, it would seem that the very best use of the opportunity here presented is to be involved when able to be of assistance, and on a friendly/helpful plane. Acrimonious commentary is helpful to nobody, and only detracts from this experience. All levels of photographic experience – and interest – are represented here! And even those with many years of making a living through the use of their knowledge have varying thoughts as to methods, equipment and processing best applied to THEIR needs - one size does not fit all!!!

Again, my apology for what I started; I just was trying to help.

Best regards to all, Loren

No need to apologize, and you have accurately described what goes on here and on the internet in general.

No need to apologize because others hijacked your thread and chose to have a very public disagreement. I appreciated your post and will now take a look at express because of your post. I agree that not everyone wants the power of Lightroom and Photoshop. Otherwise none of these other post processing programs would exist.
