'Lord of the Rings' fans stop here. I did and they wanted a fortune to go and view the film set. I settled for a shot from across the road at the information centre.

It's a shame how a place like that is turned into an overpriced tourist trap. Don't the people in charge realize that more people would be attracted to it if the price was lower? Nice shot BTW.

Thanks for your reply Sue. Apparently when the cruise ships stop at Tauranga, there are bus loads and I mean loads, of people, from the ships who flock to this site. Would be cheaper to Google it.....

Stop it! At least they saved the set, many are lost and abandon like Star Wars in the Sahara.
I've got shots of it and it is exactly as in the movie but you cannot go into most of them cause they are not real.(just fronts)
