Went back down to the San Rafael Swell for a few days to revisit some beautiful scenes. Our first stop was at the "Wedge Overlook" often referred to as the "Little Grand Canyon". A well maintained hard-pack gravel road gets you into the Buckhorn Wash and Draw area where the swell is located. There are numerous other sites to visit as you enter Buckhorn Draw and I will post photos for some of them later. You can go all the way to I-70 on this road, a total of 43 miles, that is easily with a passenger car unless you encounter severe weather.
The San Rafael River is the principle architect of this area. There are camping spots, picnic areas and "good" vault privvys located at the view areas which are just shy of 7000' elevation.
