I recently bought a Sigma 105mm OS macro lens and have been experimenting with it on my Canon 60D. It seems a fairly steep learning curve with focus and lighting, but I like the lens. This is a close-up of a small dish of detergent bubbles. Download view recommended.

Thanks Tom: I agree, before you download it the image has quite a dirty look.

Wow, what an interesting and great image. You are right about the download, the colour and clarity come through. I am thinking this is a good subject for macro with lots of possibilities with different background colours, another thing for me to try.

Thanks Brenda! The shapes and the edges of the bubbles look quite different from what you might expect. I found that I needed just a thin layer of bubbles, otherwise the colour from the background underneath them is obscured. Do post some results: I'll certainly be trying a few more.

Amazing! You have inspired me to try this.
Perhaps you could post some more of your bubble pictures.
Have you tried lighting the bubbles from the backside/bottom side?
