I notice on this site how often us photographers get upset when someone disagrees with their comments!
Its as if everyone here is always correct and should not be questioned... NEWS FLASH!!!!! no one here is always right... We share our experiences but sometimes we give opinions about things that we "think" are the correct answers, when they are not. Speaking for me only, having been shooting commercially for over a decade, I see questions on here that I have not experienced but have learned from others the answers that teach me... I am still "teachable". A decade + of experience does not make me an authority on things I have not experienced...
Let us not be anything more than photographers that are connected to the same passions of photography and not PHD's...... Even PHD's need to be taught how to tie their shoes..... LOL

I agree.. What would be your long answer? Can you elaborate on what you mean about their insecurity? I for one would find that interesting....

Lee, every so often someone on here will make a statement of "fact" which is completely wrong. It's best to nicely point that out so as not to mislead those members who are not as astute. I'm not alluding to opinionated statement, but ones of a factual nature that are incorrect.

I don't see so much that people are disagreeing directly, what I see is a lot of untrained photographers come on here and make a statement that indicates that how they do something must be the way it is and that's all that's needed, and it IS but ONLY for what that individual is doing for that particular thing!
Truth is, photography is very RARELY discussed here, I presume because so few actually know much about it. Mostly we talk about equipment such as cameras, lenses and which one is better than another, and where to buy said same!!!
Learning about sensors and diffraction and CoC and mirrorless is all good stuff but it will in no way make one a better photographer, just a better technician.
But if being a better tech is the goal, then that's all fine too.
Lets see how many will disagree with me??? LoL

Good Point. Someone once said a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. A little bit of friendly banter is kinda fun. I try to keep my mind open and my mouth shut.. as you can see I am not very good at the a latter :( I am not sure many here say they are always right as much as they say they are never wrong :) I prolly resemble that sometimes. Thank you for your post it's good re-minder of our strength lies what bind's us together not our differences. Have a wonderful day and Happy Shooting.

Yup. I pulled someone here up on applying his thinking to all photographers as fact, and was told that I was a troll. Asking why he believed so, he told me to read the comments in the thread where he alleged others had called me a troll. This was just a lie. He also insulted one of my photos and made insulting comments about the thread I made from it. Of course when I took the bait and tried to reply, I found he'd added me to his ignore list, meaning I could not respond to his "quit trolling" comment. Some here are very childish. Honestly, it's not a photographer thing, some people are just assholes. There seem to be a lot in the photography world.

Anonymity online breeds many *sshole comments, imo.
It never ceases to amaze me the insults people will throw at one and other in these types of forums.
Most would never say that sh*t to someone’s face. Emphasis on the word “most....”

Some just cannot be wrong even when it's what style one likes where their is no right or wrong it's just what one likes. For example PP. Much of it is way overblown for my taste. I dislike autos and flowers the most. Others love it. Mother nature never made flowers that are as colorful as some make them. Others love the Technic. I hope that all would let others have their opinion. Just My Not So Humble Opinion. - Dave

Would you "resist" a face to face?
