Flower in the swamp

Rode down a nasty dirt road through a swampy area and spotted a patch of these flowers (don't know what kind). Only got this one shot and that wasn't easy because a major swarm of mosquito's starting attacking, I mean it was terrible there were thousands of them and they didn't come till I walked over to where the flowers were and they said lunch is served. I think they were using the flowers for bait. Couldn't get out of there fast enough and then when I got back to the jeep they were all in it just waiting. Wow! Florida has some mean bugs! Canon 5D Mark IV and 400mm DO II form 11' away.

LOL Well so much for the freezing temps affecting the skeeter population. I had my hopes that the numbers of chiggers would be down too, but after your report on the hungry skeeters, I doubt there's much hope.

Beautiful shot and how horrible about those hungry skeeters!!!! I'm wondering if you have O- blood.... I know the minute I step outside, I get bit and they leave my husband alone!!
