Nope. In Trumpian language: Bad hombres attract bad hombres. Soulless psychopaths/sociopaths seek out and attract other soulless psychopaths/sociopaths. This was 100% predictable to those of us who understand the political psychology of the situation, and the long history of this phenomena.

Trump - the epically narcissistic psychopath - chooses people to join his team who are a mirror image of himself - corruptible, malicious, incompetent but self-aggrandizing, pathologically dishonest, etc. Sycophantic loyalty is Trump's #1 most important qualification he is looking for, not loyalty to the Constitution or to "we, the people", not those who are law abiding or best suited for the job. And simultaneously, those kinds of people are the only ones who admire and are attracted to Trump's team of criminals.

Some folks look with wonder and amazement at the endless parade of epically damaged, disordered, and dishonest characters who appear to have no conscience and zero moral scruples that somehow all "coincidentally" wound up on the Trump Team and endlessly keep showing up and multiplying. And they are going to continue being mystified for as long as this regime is in power, because it's only going to get worse, not better. These mystified folks lack an understanding of the nature of psychopaths/sociopaths and the long history of the way in which these kinds of evil corrupt power hungry criminal gangs are always trying to infiltrate and take over political hierarchies and private hierarchies/concentrations of wealth, throughout human history. This is a story as old as human civilization itself. History repeats itself again and again and again and again...ad infinitum...because "those who don't learn from history..."
