Pelican in full breeding colors

A great time of the year to be chasing Pelican images in my area ....(Florida)- The "wet" look after diving for fish ...
Shot with Sony A77II and my $48 Minolta 70-210 f3.5-4.5 @ f8 hand held in late afternoon (optimized) light, little if any crop. I also have Canon 80D - but with the Sony there is no guessing about exposure - so that is what I mostly use for non BIF's and especially when I feel exposures and colors are critical.
As ALWAYS, shot as a JPEG and PP in Elements 9 on my XP computer.

Who knew a pelican could be so beautiful and colorful. We just get white ones here.

- I hope to get more of the Pelicans this year - My wife and I may make a quick stop at the Haulover Canal Bridge if we do Black Point in June. The Bridge can be quite a playground for pelicans and is closer than Viera! Coming down for a couple days for my parents 70th. I was going to go down by myself and spend more time, but she said I was too ugly to kiss goodbye.
