Don Knotts was one funny guy. Chuck Conners was taller than I thought.

Chuck Conners also played first for the Dodgers and Cubs; played basketball for the Celtics and while he never played, he was also drafted by the Bears.
Classic. Steve Allen, Louie Nye, Pat Harrington... quite the cast for that one. Hilarious!
Great post. I enjoyed it a lot. 😎

That's when TV was fun to watch. Now they just try to push their agenda.
Great set up.
I couldn't find it on youtube, but I believe it was was on Johnny Carson that Connors told about his one and only home run in the majors. He decided he was going to yolk it for all it was worth. He took a head first slide into first base for one thing. I can't remember the rest of the antics he pulled going around the bases, but they were all similar. I still remember seeing him tell it.
I correct that. I checked his stats. He hit 2 homeruns!!

Conners was so tall they had a hard time finding bad guys for him to beat up on the Riflemen. It didn't look good for him to fight a smaller guy.
They tried to get Sam the bar tender from Gun Smoke to play bad guy because he looked mean and was tall. Sam never accepted. 😎
