I'm interested in opinions from anyone using Really Right Stuff's Magpul Gen 2 QD sling. I'm sure there are many other straps that people like, but I'm specifically interesting in hearing from people using this product.

I'm watching, but the issue I see is plates/feet/adapters, etc, for using it on your existing equipment. The new D850 plate has the holes in it, but converting others will be interesting. I am currently using their B2-FABN on my strap. This enables me to quickly mount or dismount anything that is arca-swiss, such as l-plates and lens feet.
I love RRS products. I have two of their tripods, ball heads, various rails, clamps, etc. But this sling strap was just too expensive for what it did.
I have the RRS QR military style sling. You can use it to carry a RRS tripod too. I ended up just buying the QR clips for about $12 each and using them on my BlackRapid Sport and Wrist straps. The new plate for the 1Dx MkII has the QR hole. I also use this same plate with my 1D MkIII. Fits fine and I love this QR setup. Best of both worlds for me...QR I love and use with any strap you want.
Best,
Todd Ferguson

I would use it, but when I have a big lens mounted I need the ability to attach it to the lens foot while hiking and I am not going to change feet or attach adapters or purchase two more accommodating L-plates It's convenient and quick to detach for placement on a tripod as well. It would be smaller and quicker than the existing a/s clamp that I currently use.

Since I already had RRS L-plates on my Sony A7 and A9 cameras, I ordered one a month ago. It is currently attached to my Sony A7Rii. I like the click-on attachment to the camera (to the RRS L-Plate) with its quick release button. And I like the width of the strap (1.25"), and the ease of being able to slide it up to take a quick picture. But the sliding buckle of the strap to lengthen or shorten it, just slides too easily (the strap is too smooth) so I keep having to tighten it up about once per day.
The original Sony a7 strap that came with the camera has one advantage: the skinny ends can be attached to diagonally opposite corners of the camera. This lets me use the strap as a stabilizer --- holding the camera in balanced tension, with the camera pushed one foot away from my face for a firmly supported shot. But that strap is 4 inches too short for comfortable carrying, and it is too narrow. I keep twisting it so the "Sony a7" is hidden inside, where it won't be advertizing that I'm carrying $4000-$6000 worth of hardware around my neck.
The Magpul Gen2 QD strap is very comfortable, but it attaches only at one bottom-left point of the RRS L-plate. This requires me to hold the camera up and stabilize it against a source other than the strap when taking a picture. And yet, I'm using it.
Now if only I could attach the other end of the Magpul strap to the camera strap holder on the top right of the camera, then I would have a great strap along with the ability to stabilize the camera between the pressure of my hands and the tension of the strap. What I need is a strap-holder to 3/8" socket adapter.
Take a look at the OPTech Uni Loop connectors.
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/485769-REG/OP_TECH_USA_1301062_System_Connectors_Set_of.html I use these with the RRS QR as a secondary safety. You could possibly se these with the RRS QR end ($12) and put together what you want. I use the QR end with my BlackRapid straps. OPTech has a bunch of these in different lengths too. Check out B&H for them. If you would like a photo of my setup just PM me.
