I'm trying to locate a photo from the great depression era of a hitchhiker holding a sign that reads: "If you don't give me a ride, I'll vote for
Hoover."
I would very much appreciate any help to locate this picture and be able to copy it.
This may help. What do you known about the picture, was it in a magazine. If it was it would have to be 1932 magazine. Life Magazine would be no help to you because it did not come on the market until Nov. of 1936. IF it is picture from a 1932 magazine, hunt down which magazines in 1932 use pictures to tell a story. To get back to the picture, do you known location the picture was taking at? How about the person who took the picture? I wish I could help you more, I live for the hunt on item like that. I think this is the one. When my grandson gets off work this evening he'll know. I just knew one one of the members of this forum would
have an answer. Thank you!
1932 election or 1940 election?
My information was that is was the 1932 election. I will be able to check on that in a couple hours when my grandson gets home from work.
This pic seems to have been shot where there was snow. Michigan where unemployment was high maybe.
Thanks again. I'm quite sure this is picture we are looking for.

Hoover ran in 1932, not 1940.
My grandson said 1932 but I thought he was mistaken regarding the sign thus maybe the year. He says no it was 1932 and the name Hoover
appeared on the sign. Thanks.
