Interesting if the newly rumored Pentax K-1ii can pull off this feature...
It's something that I hope that a firmware upgrade could handle for the Olympus EM1ii and Panasonic G9.
Jeepers! Some amazing technology out there!

Well one has to see if that's going to be the case, they couldn't get that to work with the first K1, even when on a tripod!
FWIW, there is an existing version of hand held high res that I've played with. You can do it with any camera you already have.
Rather than "normal" perspective, shoot a 9 shot telephoto mosaic (3x3) and combine them (automagically) with the Panorama merge function in Lightroom. Viewed on a screen or printed, the resulting image is full of detailed resolution.
You can even do it with an Olympus!

Actually works real well on a tripod with the K-1 do not no where you are getting information that it doesn't biggest problem is LR does not handle shifted images.

It works well, if there aint any shifts in objects ( like a bit of a breeze, or that kind)! Even placed on a tripod, it failed to deliver in all the tests!
There will never be a pixel shift that will actually adjust for movement of subject just like HDR it can't be done. But using Pentax software that comes with it it actually don't do too bad on even moving objects all the reviewers try to work on me pixel shift image with Lightroom and it will not work

Never say never...technology never ceases to amaze. It’s only a matter of time before someone figures it out.

I use my Olympus camera all the time to get those 64mp raw files. There are times when there is no wind, or you happen to be in the Southwest. Or you are taking photos of products.
It works more often than you think.

If Pentax can do it with that ff sensor, Oly has no more excuses. May come in the EM5 mark3

No longer 'rumored'.
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-515141-1.htmland for $550, an owner can upgrade a K-1 to become a K-1 Mark ii.

Here is an example for you. This camera uses 8 normal 16mp files to create a 64mp photo.
