Has anybody used Greentoe for buying cameras? I am looking to purchase a Canon 7DII body only and they seem to have the cheapest price without having to "ask my price." The price almost seems too good to be true. I understand you put in a lower price and they will find a company willing to accept your bid and get back to you. This is for a "brand new" USA (not grey market) camera.

There are differing opinions here regarding Greentoe. My own experience in two transactions was completely negative and the transactions were never completed. Promised savings never materialized. I was asked to accept much lower savings amounts (which I refused) as if I should be satisfied with 5% off. In the end, Adorama came thru with a deal very close to what I wanted and the product was pristine. There is a reason why UHH members tout the same 3 or 4 vendors all the time - they have the products and the desire to serve the photography community.

I haven't bought a camera from them but I did buy an Induro tripod and gimbal head from them right around Christmas. The only complaint, and it's a small one, is that it took three or four weeks to get to me. Adorama made the deal (saved me about $100) and the items shipped straight from Induro. All in all, happy with the experience.

I submitted a bid, but they couldn't match the bid. They looked around the internet (which I could have done myself) and found the lowest available price, which was nothing earth shattering. Never made a deal on it.

I have used Greentoe on two major lens purchases, both Tamrons. Saved $150 on each, a 70-200 & 24-70 G2. The transactions were seamless and in both cases fulfilled by one of the East Coast big boys. I would suggest give them a try, and if your bid isn't accepted, nothing is lost. As for me, I'm delighted with Greentoe and will use them again.

I have purchased a 6D, 5Diii, and a 100-400ii from them. There are tricks to save the most, but you need patience and know your top dollar. Great eay to purchase many items
