I need a FREE Raw processing software for Canon.
I am going to give a RAW workshop and I have Free Nikon software for download to process Nef files but I don't know if software comes with a Canon camera to process Raw and if it can be downloaded by my club members
Canon RAW editor software (called Digital Photo Professional (DPP)) does come with a Canon camera.
But to download any updates, I have to enter my camera's serial number. I don't know if ≈30 people using the same serial number would cause a problem or not.
Canon offers a Digital Photo Professional with their cameras. If you don't have a CD that came with the camera, you can go to the Canon website and download it. You will need the camera body ID number.

Have your Canon users download their own software - DPP - it's free.
Direct them to the support section at usa.canon.com. The DPP software is available as a "Drivers & Download". They're prompted for an EOS model, but any EOS model will do, such as EOS 70D. They'll select the operating system and should then select the current DPP v4.x as listed. To kick-off the download, they will be prompted for a serial number from the camera body. Again, any valid number will do, it doesn't even have to be a 70D as referenced in this example.
Yes, you and I know that software ships with the camera but some of my members don't realize what it is for. who knows what they think it is, the manual on disk?...or even if they can find it.

Suggest they download a PDF copy of their manual while on the Canon site ...

I use the Canon Software utilities and find they do a reasonably good job, in particular they have the link to each camera lens and distortion adjustments etc. per lens are available.
Good Idea, then they could drop it into Dropbox and be able to access from their phone in the field.
I have DPP2 and DPP4, DPP4 is so much better than DPP2. If you have a choice get 4.
