...find something to use as a pedestal, then get your camera up much closer! Cool concept!

...just looked again and you *did* get very close in one of them...but your hand is preventing you from getting more of the globe!

Neat stuff.

With exception to the first pic, I noticed the rest show you are holding the crystal ball at a tangent to the sun. It has a tendency to burn hands when you hold it from the bottom, doesn't it. LoL

I actually sampled several different distances. Seeing this was my first outing I wanted to try several things to get a feel for it.

...find a small cup (from a kid's tea set maybe) and mount (read: glue or screw) it to something you can rig to a tripod. Then set the orb on it!

Was thinking of purchasing this. For mounting, was thinking a good clear suction cup on say, an arrow shaft, then an adapter for a tripod. Thinking the shaft is narrow with excellent strength and the clear suction cup would be easier to clone out. Just, thinkin'.

...good! You're a natural carpenter! I'm inspired to find an orb and try it myself...

a small shaft might be problematic with this particular ball as it weighs about 5 lbs

All pictures are upside down in the ball I know. Try holding from top then show photo upside down just for fun.
