Joined the club boat yesterday and enjoyed watching the yachts race by.
I think catching the boats on the fore quarter angle emphasises the sense of movement.

Excellent detail in the downloads.
I particularly like the composition in the first photograph with the reflections of the sails on the water.
A good series of photograph’s, well taken.

For me, a sense of movement comes with the presence of white water, like a bow wave created by that movement. Your last photo has that, and gets my vote, but it needs some more room to sail in to. JMHO.

Re bow wave... I get your point. There was not a heap of wind but if there were the water would not have been as smooth.
But something to look for next time.
Regarding room to sail into... I suppose that would suggest the shot should follow the 'off centre' rule. Good point.
