Hi all,
I currently have a Mocrosoft Surface Pro 4 as my computer. Is anyone using a surface with an external monitor? I am looking for advise on a good external monitor for post processing. The surface screen is WAY to small.
Thanks in advance for your thoughtful advise.
Quoting “Mocrosoft Surface Pro 4” — I’m not sure Bill Gates likes people to “mock” his company’s products.
Thanks Steve, I will take a look.
Sometimes my "search and destroy". Method of typing sends out some crazy things.
It looks like the graphics adapter on my Surface Pro only supports a maximum of 2160x1440 pixels, thus I would look for the largest diagonal size 2160x1440 screen your workspace permits. I would probably look for a 27" screen. There would be no point in buying a 4K monitor because the graphics adapter can't drive it. You would want to make sure the monitor has an HDMI input, and you have the right cable. It would be standard HDMI on the monitor and micro-HDMI on the Surface.
I stand corrected, that's not A HDMI connection that is a Mini display port connection make sure the monitor has a display port connection and the cable has a Mini display port connection on the other end.
Will do, good data to start my search with.
Thank you all for your input.
Mine is a Surface Pro 3, and I just looked up the specs of a Surface Pro 4. It looks like the graphics adapter on your machine will support 2736x1824 at 267 PPI. Just in case you would like something higher resolution than 2160x1440.
I'm using a 32 in samsung 4 k LED TV works just fine.
Yes... a 4K screen will work just fine. Except with the OP's graphics adapter it won't run at 4K (3480x2160). 2736x1824 is the best it will do, so perhaps the expense of a 4k monitor is not indicated. Just thought he might want to save a few bucks.
I like the idea of a 4K TV, however it won't fit in the space required and they are a bit pricey.
Thanks for all your input. Now to use the data and make a purchase.
Have a look at the benq photo monitors 99% rgb and great value with the bonus of c type connection
