Like the first shot but, I would like to see more of the town and less of the sky. Great shot.

Very good point. Of course, I might have been taking a picture of the sky and included too much of the town. :D

That's always a possibility. However seeing your work before I think you would have had a more interesting sky lol. I still like the shot a lot I just love the look of the town. Just one mans opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

That's one little section of the City of Poughkeepsie.

Nice shots. jk48 should look at your second shot as an example of leading lines. I agree, as good as the first shot is, maybe less sky and more town, but not by much. I think the second shot would still have worked if you had zoomed in more. There's lots of bridge and railing, not much at the end of it.

I see your point.

I Like the second shot as well. I like the sky, although it might have benefited from a Gradient ND filter or a circular polarizer as the sky is a bit blown out. But an all around nice shot.

Yes, the sky was not good that day. (I'll balme it on nature, rather than on me.) I don't think anything would have helped much. I'm guessing it had something to do with the position of the sun and the direction I was looking. I took these in Feb, and it was cold and windy up there. We walked several miles, and my enthusiasm was waning.

...perhaps a different angle.... and compromise comment upon
the two shots; would be:

Eastview to Poughkeepsie
