Bracketing Merging ... take two
Hi Hoggers,
I would have attached this to the previous topic but I can't see how you can add more photos to an existing topic.
Here is another example of a bracket merge. I am only posting this for your opinion analysis of the bracket merge. the actual content is ok but....
I have not done any post processing other than the merge.
I feel the merged sky is way too dull (over exposed?). And fore ground could use some more saturation.
What are the hoggers opinions?
How much difference in original exposures, what did you use to merge the frames?
The sky from #2 is great
and the foreground from number #3 is the best foreground
1/8 sec, 1/30, 1/2 in that order. All at f9 iso 100
i used lightroom to merge the shots

Bracket merge? A non-Adobe Photoshop term or something new in Ps or Lr CC? Looks like a job for layering?
Sorry, the LR term is "Photo Merge" then choosing HDR.
Layering?
I am new to post processing.
Please elaborate.

A couple of questions -
Did you start with a jpg or raw file?
you have more to work with if you shoot raw
Did you make any adjustments in LR after the HDR merge?
some judicious use of Dehaze, plus some Highlight, Shadows, White and Black point adjustments make improvements and then throw in some Clarity and just a little Vibrance and Saturation for a more dramatic image.
There does seem to be motion blur, particularly in the tree on the left and a strong halo of haze around it. A faster shutter speed with larger aperture and slightly higher ISO would have helped in regard to the blur. The blur can be somewhat minimized in the HDR merge.
Assuming you don't mind, I can post an adjusted version or you should be able to do this yourself.

OK, that I know, same in Ps as Lr.
Yes, the "thing" in Photoshop is
layer. The activity or process I was referring to is
layering. Please look at Linda's link!

I can't help believe focus stacking would have been a better choice.
Thank-you all.
I use a Canon 60d. I always shoot in raw.
I was using a tripod but it was a really windy day hence the tree movements.
I will look into layering.
Thanks for the input.
