Every so often people here will bash a smartphone. I took this photo for work, I work in cat rehoming. My Nikon was a few steps away, my iPhone 7s in my pocket. I wanted to show how valuable a smartphone can be, even with a fancy DSLR available. Wallace here is shy and would have got scared with a shutter firing in his face. Thanks to my phone on silent he will be seen by hundreds or more, and hopefully get a new home quicker for it. Never talk badly of a valuable tool, sometimes it can genuinely be the best option available, even if it has flaws. Comments welcome.
There are times when my phone is the only camera that I have with me. I’m glad whe have them for snapshots. They sure come in handy for grandkids photos when out for a walk or going to the playground.

I've seen excellent shots come from cell phones. I've no problem with them as a camera.
They may be a bit more cumbersome to use at times, but I've seen great images from them.

I would say they're easier to use. You don't have to check your settings, check it's the right lens, unpack from your bag and remove lens cap. Had I done all that I would have lost the moment and Wallace would have hidden himself (like he did after I took the photo). Now don't get me wrong, my Nikon takes amazing photos which no smartphone can match. But it's not right for every occasion, and not all animals like cameras. Also for holidays or when you want to catch a moment, your phone is always with you. Hence some of my favourite photos are from my phone.

I think I forgot to click the store original box in my initial post. Let me try again.

Easier as in point-n-click with touch focus, yes. My phone display is lousy in bright sunlight though.
I have no problem with cell phone cameras; after all, it is a camera. Just the other day I went to take some photos at a doctors office and as usual I took my Canon G1X III out of my pocket and went to take the first photo. I got an error message and I realized I had forgotten to put an SD card back in it. At that point it is a relatively expensive paper weight.
Cell phone to the rescue. I've used a cell phone many times in the past when a dedicated camera is not available. I wouldn't use one for wild life or something that's going to be made into a large print or will be heavily cropped but, if you need to take a photo and it's the only camera you have, well, it's a camera...

Right on!!! Although I rarely use my iPhone for photography it is a valuable tool that should not be frowned upon by camera snobs...

Thanks for all the comments. Here's another photo from the same moment.
