Thanks, Ken. My blown out shoulders didn't enjoy that, lol.

G'morning, everybody. I have spent the past two years trying to get a Great Horned Owl in the wild. Today was finally the day. This one was in a tree about fifteen yards from where it's nest was. I'd been checking the nest since I discovered it a couple of weeks ago but could never find the bird. This morning, as I was walking away from the nest, I happened to spot a little patch of white in another tree. The white was out of place in the tree so I put the lens on it and, sure enough, there was my owl. This was also the first time that I've hand held the Nikkor 200-500mm lens.

Congrats, great looking images.
Well done!. I've got one that hoots at night around my place. It's time to put in some more serious search time to root him out. Great shots! I have the same lens. vz

I like the second one better than the first but both are very nice. To really show off images check "store original" so we can fully appreciate them.
Thanks, everybody, for the comments, I truly do appreciate them. I guess my next project will be to try to capture the three remaining NW Louisiana species. I’m not sure I have enough years left to find them, though. Lol
Fantastic and congratulations for your patience paying off!
Congrats and a beautiful set, Milliardo!
