I guess considering your comment you think a few dozen more laws would have stopped this kid. He had mental problems but nobody did anything about it. He didn't give a damn about laws. Ban the AR-15 and the likes and some one like this will figure out another method. How about a bomb or two strategically placed and remotely detonated. Drop off a couple in the halls and pull the fire alarm like he did and when the kids come running out, boom! Then the number hurt or k**led could be substantially higher. Figure out a way to identify and deal with people with mental problems and things like this will probably not happen except for the extremists and sad to say we will never stop things like this 100%.

Yep, gotta get rid of those AR-15's so those with mental issues will switch to using bombs instead and maybe k**l a lot more people. When will you do gooders realize it's not the gun it's the person who doesn't give a tinkers damn about laws. You can't legislate evil. They will find a way if they are so inclined.

Will it make you fell better if all assault look alike weapons are banned? Then ban them. Just realize it won't change a thing. Then where do you draw the line between safety and freedom? The harsh reality is that there are inherent risks in living in a free society. Personal safety is just one of those risks. Who was it who said "if you give up personal safety for freedom--you will have neither"? Also realize that the AR 15 is merely a semi-automatic weapon. No different than many other semi-auto weapons. Do you ban them all? What about single shot weapons? Ban them too? Would the world be better off if all guns suddeny disappeared? Maybe, maybe not. Even in WW2 guns did not k**l the vast majority of those who died. In the US, according to FBI stats long guns k**l fewer people than knives, blunt objects,hands and or fists. Do we ban those also?

What you are saying "You can't legislate evil", well I guess we should repeal all laws on rape, if a person want to rape your daughter let him have at it with your daughter. This "do-gooder " get his first firearm when he was 14, just last Sunday was at a auction and pick up a shotgun. I be 73 in April. When the AR-15 came on the marker back in the 1960s, I knew then that AR-15 rifle had no use as a hunting firearm, yes the cal. is a very good hunting round. Also knew back in 1960s that rifle would become none but trouble. We are banding things all the time from coming on the market, what the hang up of banding rifle like the AR-15. I don't want to read the BS about their ban one type of firearm, their going to ban all.

The term Assault weapon was a purposeful deception by the gun control advocates to confuse people. To make them think that the AR 15 or the Bushmaster is a fully automatic Assault RIFLE. The Bushmaster is no different than any other semi-automatic rifle. Many hand guns are also semi-automatic. THEY ARE NOT MACHINE GUNS. If you want to ban the AR 15 go ahead, just realize it won't make any difference. Personally I don't need a Bushmaster for personal protection. My 12 gauge is all I need.

If someone figured that out, you wouldn't want to fund it. It is mostly a societal issue, but if new or different gun laws could make the situation better (I'm not claiming they would or wouldn't) the costs and the benefits should be weighed and a decision made based on this. Seat belts don't end all automobile fatalities, and not wearing seatbelts wasn't k*****g people. Auto accidents were k*****g people. It was discovered that seat belts would keep automobiles from k*****g as many people and now we all wear seat belts.
